Last year, I was searching for the perfect gift. For my Goddaughter. Who at the time, had been in the hospital, for nearly 4 months! So I searched, and searched. That's when I came across the Flying Hearts Mobile. And I was instantly in LOVE!
I actually made mine, a little bigger. With 5 different colors. Something fun. For this precious little girl. And until this past November, when she got to go home, this hung in her hospital room! Now it hangs in her playroom. And she still LOVES it!
So as I was planning out projects for this Valentine's Day. When this came straight to my mind. Many of my friends, have recently become parents. To little girls. And I think this will make an adorable gift. It's super fun, easy, and interesting to make. Doesn't cost much. And is incredibly fast to make. What do you think? Would you make one?

Cowl
If you're anything like me, you like a good scarf. Something pretty. Something that's easy to throw on. But warm! That adds a little to your outfit. You know the type. Well, I have a nice stash of scarves. My favorites are the $5 ones from Wal-Mart. I can't lie! But in the last year, I've really started to love cowls. Like this one!
The funny thing is, I've made plenty of these. For gifts. To sell. But never, have I made myself one. Well, right after Christmas, I'm going to make one. I'm thinking in a dark plum color. Wouldn't that be so pretty? I'm already excited about my plans! Honestly, I can't wait to wear a cowl, just like this one!

What Do You Think?
Recently, my cousin has been talking about The Shack. She's been talking about it for a while now. A few weeks. And it's sounds like an interesting book. Not really a religious book. But more of a book, that questions ones beliefs and religion. Makes you think a little...
Have you read The Shack? Would you recommend it? Is it something worth my time? I absolutely LOVE reading! Add I've been wondering about this book, for a while now. Honestly, if I could find it at the local store, I probably would have bought it. So what do you think?

Craft Supplies
If you've been reading a craft blog, for the last year or so, you've heard about the Cricut and the Silhouette. There are so many projects that you can make with these 2 machines. And I've been eyeing them, for longer than I can remember...
The Cricut has been out longer. At least I think so. And I see it everywhere! At Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, and JoAnn's. EVERYWHERE! They're always having sales. But even the sale price, is just out of my reach...right now.
How about the Silhouette? Almost every blog out there, the big ones, is sponsored by Silhouette. And honestly, if I had a few hundred dollars, I'd buy this bad boy! Without even thinking about it. I find myself, dreaming about so many projects. Oh, my! If only. But let me tell you, I'll be saving my pennies, to buy one of these fun machines.

Mark's Craft Books
Have you ever heard of Mark Montano? Well, I didn't know that he wrote craft books. On a recent trip to Barnes and Noble, I literally stumbled on one! I was there buying some stuff for school. But I sat down with this book, and took a long look!
And by a long look, I mean I sat there for 2 hours. Just going through all the projects. What a great book! And it wasn't too expensive. I think it was under $15. Honestly, it's an incredible book for the money!
That's not all. When I got home, I Googled the book. And I found out that there are 2 of these books. Yes, 2! I'm putting these on my "Wish List." Maybe just maybe...I'll get them for Christmas. I'd be so excited! Because I'm already thinking, of all the projects that I want to make. :)

New Snowflakes
For the last few years, my Mom has been crocheting Christmas ornaments. We've combined them with store bought ornaments, and it's made for a pretty Christmas tree. Lots of delicate crochet snowflakes. Made with thread. Mixed in with other white and sparkly ornaments. I even beaded some little ones for her.
I've always wanted to make some of my own. For my Christmas tree. But I don't really enjoy crocheting with thread. The thin thread that my Mom uses. And my Christmas tree is nothing like her more "dressy" Christmas tree. My Christmas tree is much more "traditional." In the sense, that it's a mix of many different types of ornaments. Collected over the years. With vintage lights. That kind of tree. So when I came across this picture, I was thrilled!
It's a little close to Christmas, for me to start this new project. But I had never thought of using twine. Or making snowflakes in another color, than white. And you know what, I really like this idea. This might be a good project to work on, all year. You know, make a few every month. This might just work out! And I could also make a few, to add to special presents next year. :)

Inspired
I've been trying to finish Christmas presents. Let's just say, I'm further behind, than I'd like to be. Ugh! It's been crazy around here! And I feel like, I'm not getting anywhere. But I have faith, that it will work out. With all this going on, I decided to go hunting for some inspiration. And I found this cross.
It's inspired me. To make a couple. And send them out to some of my friends and family. I wish that I could find the instructions. But I can't. So I'm going to wing it. Are there any last minute projects that you're working on? Or that you'd recommend for us?

Chicken Fettuccine Carbonara
Tonight, my parents and I went out to dinner. On this cold night, we decided on Applebees. And that was such a good decision. Look at what I got...
Chicken Fettuccine Carbonara. It was so good! My Mom had it a while back. And told me that I would love it. She was right! Lots of yummy veggies, a little bacon, and pasta. What more could a girl ask for? What's your favorite thing to eat at Applebees?

Lovely Lace Dress
I've been looking for dresses lately. One of my jobs, includes performing with a band. And I need some new dresses for our next set of shows. For New Year's! All the band told me was, to have fun dresses. A little sparkle, lots of color, and something that I liked. So I took to Google, and found this lovely dress!
Don't you just love it? The color. She shape. The lace. All that lovely lace! It's so ladylike. Yet, fun. A little sassy. And I think this would be cute, for one of the smaller shows. With my black boots. Sounds like fun to me.
Now, do I try and track down the dress. And buy it. Because the link in Google was broken. Or do I try and recreate it myself? If I do this, I better get started! Oh...the decisions!

Craft Fair and Amigurumi
Today my Mom and I, are selling at our church's Holiday Craft Fair. We don't sell at many. Mostly because, well, we don't have the time. I would LOVE to do more of this. But my schedule really doesn't allow for that. My Mom and I always look forward to December and February, when our church has these Craft Fairs.
We started to just support the church. It's fun. We get to meet new people. We support our church. And we're able to make a little bit of money. Maybe in the future, we'll do a few more. Or start selling on Etsy. It's been a goal of mine. To start our shop.
This has been a tough 2 weeks. Trying to get ready for the Craft Fair. But also, dealing with life. I got really busy with work and performing. School has been crazy! I've been ridiculously sick! Time has been almost scheduled to the second! I haven't had as much time as I had originally hoped. But I've gotten some things done. Mostly, these little guys.
For whatever reason, these amigurumis are a BIG hit! I just don't have enough time. I wish I did. Oh, and I can't find these darn eyes! I live in a small town. We have 1 store that sells them. And 99% of the time, they're out of stock! But I managed to make a few. And I have the parts, to put about 5 of them together. That will be my project. As we're hanging out today.
So if you're around, come by. We'll have 2 tables. Everything from crafts to baked goods. Yes, I made cupcakes and candy. My Mom baked lots of cookies. Sadly, I didn't make peanut brittle. It's my thing. The one thing, that everyone knows us for. But I can't find the ingredients. And well, I really didn't have too much time this week.
Don't forget to stop by and say Hi! Our church, 9AM-1PM. Santa will be there. The church is also selling breakfast and lunch. Honestly, it's delish! And there are so many great booths. If you need more info, e-mail us, or call me. Hope to see you there!

23 Years
Today is my parents' 23rd Wedding Anniversary. I was 5 years old when they were married. And I still remember getting stuck in the "Christmas Parade" traffic. 23 years. Full of love, happiness, and growth. I know, marriage is not an easy road. But I'm glad that my parents got married 23 years ago. I'm super happy that they're still together, and happy.
Today I'm wishing them a very Happy Anniversary! I hope that they have an fun and enjoyable day. And I pray that they have many more years together. Making great memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying life as a happy couple. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

The Flu, Dark Water, and Crafting
The past week has been tough. I started feeling sick last week. But I pushed on. It was Thanksgiving after all. And we had a lot of company coming over. Lots of cooking to be done! We got through it. And during the weekend, I could feel it coming on. I was getting sick.
I tried to ignore it Sunday. But Monday morning, there was no denying it! I could barely move. Everything hurt. And I felt like someone had hit me with a bus! I slept most of Monday. My parents had no medicine. And by the time I got some Monday night, I just wanted to sleep.
I got it together and went to work on Tuesday. Spending most of my day, driving. It was horrible! Come to find out, I not only have the flu. I have Strep Throat. Ugh! This was not the week to get sick. On top of all of this, I have 2 big concerts to perform at. And my Mom and I, are selling at our church's Holiday Craft Fair. Yup, bad timing!
While trying to recover this week, I've been curled up, in my office. I would say, a good 85% of the doctors are sick. The hospital is horrible right now. And I don't get it. We get so many shots every year, so that we don't get sick. But some "mysterious" flu has hit. A couple of us, have been reduced to "paperwork duty." Not too bad. We curl up in my office, watch a movie, do paperwork, sleep, hydrate, and I've been crafting.
One of the movies we watched this week, is Dark Water. Oh my goodness! What a movie. Initially, I didn't want to watch it. But my colleague was all over it. So I said, why not? It was such a great movie! You have to see it. I know that my Mom would LOVE it! She really likes movies like this.
I was just so into this movie. The ending was so good! And I got about 5 hats made. 5 hats, in less than 2 hours. At least my crocheting, isn't getting affected by my horrible health! :)
