Hi! I'm Desiree. The blogger here. I also maintain our social media sites. My Mom is Irene. She's also a maker for Two Crafty Hearts. Currently, she's battling cancer...and a few other new health issues.
You may have seen us at the Albuquerque Downtown Growers' Market. Or the Albuquerque Rail Yards Market. We sold at both locations for about 5 years. Our little business, Two Crafty Hearts will turn 20 this summer!
We make handmade items. Mostly crochet and sewing. And if you are a customer of ours, you will have seen different colored tags on our items. It's because the money goes into different parts of our foundation. Our pink tags...basically are for our other business Love, Puppy Momma. It's were we sell all of our pet items.
The orange tagged items, go directly to cover my Mom's medical costs. Her story is here. Yellow tags benefit our scholarship program through our foundation. Blue tags go into the general fund at our foundation. It's to help pay fees at the Markets and Craft Shows, we donate to cancer research, cancer families, and to host our fundraisers. Purple tags go to a section of our foundation, Love Caregivers. Through LC we send out cards, care packages, and gift cards to caregivers. We also help caregivers who might be in the hospital with their loved ones. To help provide meals, gas, and sometimes lodging.
The green tags...those go into our general fund. To pay the bills, buy the supplies, and keep everything going. Our business came first. Then our foundation. We do all of this work, to keep my Dad's memory alive. And to give back to our community. 💕
